Step 7 Connect the microphone cables.
• If you have a codec with three microphone outputs, connect the mi crophones using Figure 8-7 as a
guide.
Cable the microphones using the following markings and colors on the codec:

A single dot on a green background indicates a center microphone.
–
Two dots on a white background indicate a left microphone.
Note The directions left and right refer to the assembly as you face it from the front.

Three dots on a red background indicate a right microphone.
• If you have a codec with one microphone output and an audio/vide o extension unit, connect the
microphones using Figure 8-8 as a guide.
