Lookfor asecurity icon in the top right corner of thecall activity
area,next to the call duration timer:
Authenticatedcall or conference
Encryptedcall or conference
Nonsecurecall or conference
Checkthe security level of acall or
conference
Listenfor a secure indication tone at the beginning of the call:
Securecall status: If the phone is protected, the Play Secure
IndicationTone is enabled, and the call status is secure, a
secureindication tone plays on the protected phone at the
beginningof acall (three long beepswith pauses). The lock
iconindicates that the call is secure.
Nonsecurecall status: If the phone is protected, the Play
SecureIndication Tone is enabled, and the call status is
nonsecure,a nonsecure indication tone plays on the protected
phoneat thebeginning of acall (six shortbeeps with brief
pauses).The play arrow icon indicates that the call is not
secure.

Ciscodetermines that a device that is engaged in a call is either trusted or untrusted. Lock or shield icons
arenot displayed on your phone screen when a call is to or from an untrusted device, even though the call
mightbe secure.
