Audience

This guide is for the networking professional managing the Cisc o Me tro E ther net (ME ) 3400 Se rie s
Ethernet Access switch, hereafter referred to as the switch. Before using this guide, you s ho u l d h ave
experience working with the Cisco IOS software and be familiar w ith the con ce pts a nd te rm inology of
Ethernet and local area networking.

Purpose

This guide provides procedures for using the commands that have been created or c hanged for use with
the Cisco ME 3400 switch. It does not provide detailed information about these commands. For detaile d
information about these commands, see the Cisco ME 3400 Ethernet Access Switch Command Reference
for this release. For information about the standard Cisco IOS Release 12.2 commands, see the Cisco
IOS documentation set available from the Cisco.com home page at Service and Support > Technical
Documents. On the Cisco Product Documentation home page, select Release 12.2 from the Cisco IOS
Software drop-down list.
This guide does not describe system messages you might encounter or how to install your switch. For
