5.1 Mode Parameters

If "1" is specified, the HDD is permitted to enter the Standby condition after the elapse of the time specified in the "Standby Condition Timer" field.

If "0" is specified, the HDD is prohibited from entering the Standby condition.

d.Standby Condition Timer (unsupported)

Specifies the time before the HDD enters the Standby condition. When the Standby bit is "1," the HDD enters the Standby condition after the elapse of the time calculated by multiplying the value specified in this field by 100 ms.

a.LogErr (log error)

This bit (LogErr) of zero indicates that the logging of informational exception conditions within a target is vendor specific. A LogErr bit of one indicates the target logs informational exception conditions.

b.EBF (enable background function)

If background functions are supported, this bit of one indicates the target enables background functions. An "EBF" bit of zero indicates the target disables the functions.
