Installation

5Click Scan for Hardware Changes. Windows 2003 scans for the SuperLoader 3 drive. The drive appears under ? Other Devices again.

6Right-click the appropriate listing, then click Properties.

7Select the Driver tab, then click Update Driver.

8When the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard appears, click Next.

9Click Display a list..., then click Next.

10Scroll down and click Tape Drive, then click Next.

11Select the appropriate directory for your drive.

12Click the SuperLoader 3 (drive) entry, then click Next.

13Click Next to install the driver.

14Click Finish.

15Click Device Properties to make sure that the driver has been installed.

The drive now appears in Device Manager under Tape Drives as a (drive type) SCSI Sequential Device and is ready to use.

Important

The autoloader uses the SuperLoader 3 Windows drivers.

Autoloader device driver

To install the autoloader device driver for Microsoft Windows 2003:

1Make sure that you are logged on to the host server with administrator privileges.

2Download the latest drivers from support.gateway.com. Save the drivers to your host computer.

3Right-click the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop, then click Manage, Device Manager.

The autoloader should be listed under Medium Changers as Unknown Medium Changer Device.

4Right-click the Unknown Medium Changer Device listing, click Uninstall, then click OK to confirm that you want to remove the device.

5Click Action in the upper-left corner of the Computer Management dialog box.

6Click Scan for Hardware Changes.

Windows 2003 scans for the autoloader. The autoloader appears under Medium Changers again.

7Right-click the Unknown Medium Changer Device listing, then click Properties.

8Select the Driver tab.

9When the Upgrade Device Driver Wizard appears, click Next.

10Click Display a list..., then click Next.
