Toner smear
●There is excess toner on the paper. Reprint the page.
●The fusing rollers have excess toner on them. Print 5 to 10 pages to clean the excess toner from the rollers.
●The media does not meet HP specifications (see page 67). Use media that meets HP media specifications.
●The toner cartridge is defective. Replace the toner cartridge for the color that is smearing.
●The fusing assembly is defective. Replace the fuser kit.
●There is excess toner in the printer. Print 5 to 10 pages to clear the excess toner, and clean the printer (see page 148).
●The transfer roller is not seated correctly. Remove and reseat the transfer roller.
●A label or a piece of paper may be stuck to the transfer belt or a roller on the transfer belt. Remove the label or piece of paper.
