Raster Graphics Command Sequence

PCL raster commands include: Start Raster Graphics and End Raster Graphics commands, Transfer Raster Data by Plane and Row, Raster Compression, Raster Presentation, Raster Resolution, Raster Height and Raster Width (which define the raster area), and Raster Y Offset commands. For printing well-behaved raster graphics, the normal sequence of execution for these commands is shown below. Hewlett-Packard strongly recommends that developers use this command sequence in their applications.

Note

Although the source raster height and width commands are not

necessary, they improve memory efficiency.
