5-3.Removing Jam

"Film jam between exposure section and elevator transport section

The screen on the right shows the example where a film jam occurs between the elevator transport section and the exposure section (the subscan unit). Follow the procedure below to remove the jammed film.

(1)Lift the film outlet cover on the front-lower part of the device to open by lifting the green handle.

Opening the cover to an upright position fixes it with magnets.

(2)Press the green lever on the lower-right of the front device rightward until it is locked.

(3)Turn the green handle on the lower-right of the front device counterclockwise.

The film in the elevator transport section will return to the sub- scan unit.

(4)When the film can be seen in the subscan unit, put your hand from the film outlet.

(5)While turning the handle further, fold the edge of the film back.

(6)When the film comes out of the subscan unit com- pletely, remove it from the film outlet.

(7)Close the film outlet cover and then the front cover.

The normal screen will re-appear after a while when the mes- sage of "PLEASE WAIT" appears.

When there queued print data remains, printing starts automat- ically.

CAUTION

The front cover cannot be closed with the film outlet cover open. If you find it difficult to close the front cover, check that the film outlet cover is closed.

Do not close the front cover forcibly.
