1. Select Start»Settings»Control Panel and double-click on the
System icon.

3. Double-click on the Ports (COM & LPT) icon to display a list of
installed ports.
Howcan I determine which version of the NI-Serial software I have
installed?
TheRead Mefile gives the version of the software. To open the file,select
Start»Programs»National Instruments»NI-Serial»ReadMe.

Howcan I determine which port is associated withCOMx?
Todetermine which physical port is associated with COMx, complete the
followingsteps:
1. Inthe Device Manager, under Ports (COM & LPT), double-click on
aser ial port.
2. Note the Port 1, Port 2, etc. entries next to the COM numbers. For all
serialhardware, PORT1 refers to the top port, PORT2 refers to the next
port down,and so on.
