Hard Drive

The system comes with eith er a 6.0-gigabyte (GB) or a 12- G B en h an ced
intelligent device electronics (EIDE) hard drive. The drive features ultra
direct memory access (DMA ) 6 6 tech nology for fast data tr a nsfer.
The drive is located inside the system unit, on the right side. The drive is
not user accessible.
Hard disk activity is indicated by a flashing green lamp on the front of the
system unit.

CD-ROM Drive

All systems come with a 24X Max Slim variable speed CD-ROM drive.
Use the CD-ROM drive to load and start programs from a compa ct disc
(CD). You can also use the CD-ROM dr ive to play your audio CDs.
The CD-ROM drive operat es a t different speeds depen ding on whether
the CD you are using contain s data or music. This allows you t o get your
data faster and to see smoother animation and video.
A flashing amber activity lamp on the front of the drive indicates that the
drive is reading data. Pr ess the tray button to open or cl ose the CD-ROM
tray for loading or unloading a CD. An emergency eject feature allows
you to open th e tray in case of a p ow e r or software ma lfunction.

Speakers

The system has two 1-watt s t ereo speakers mounted in si d e th e ba se of the
LCD panel. Speaker volum e i s controlled by the volum e con trol on the
left side of the system unit. Volume can also be controlled through the
Windows sound software.
