System Requirements
The Intel Processor Serial Number Control utility requires:
a Pentium II I pr ocessor-ba s e d system
Windows 98, Windows NT 4.0 (or later), or Windows 2000
2 megabytes of hard drive space.
Installation
The Intel Processor Serial Number Control Utility (version 1.0) comes on
the NEC Application and Driver CD. Run setup.exe from the directory
where you unzip the file.
Processor Serial Number
The Intel processor ser i al number, a feature of the Pen t ium III processor,
is an identifier for th e processor. The processor ser i al number is unique,
and when used in conjunct ion with other identifica tion methods, can be
used to identify the system or user. This number can be used in a wi d e
variety of applications which benefit from stronger forms of system and
user identification.
The processor serial n um ber is analogous to a conventi onal serial number,
