Software
NEC provides a variety of software applications and hardware utilities
with your system to let you take advantage of your hardware capabilities.
Preloaded Microsoft Operating System
Your system comes preloaded with the Microsoft® Windows® 98 SE
operating s yst em or with a du a l -boot Windows N T ® 4.0 and Win dows®
2000 operating system.
NEC OS Restore CD
Your system comes with an NE C OS Restore CD and bootable disk et te.
The CD contains the Wind ows 98 operating system or th e dual -boot
Windows NT/Windows 2000 operating systems, depending on your
model.
Should a problem occur tha t causes data loss or corr up t ion, you can
restore your s ystem to its or iginal factor y state or you ca n restore just th e
operating system and dr ivers. You can also perfor m h ar d drive
partitioning.
After restoring the oper ating system, you can use th e Application and
Driver CD to install your applications, drivers, and NECC online
documents.
NEC Application and Driver CD
Your system comes an NEC Application and Driver CD. Use this CD to
install any or all of th e soft wa r e that comes with the system, including:
Microsoft® Internet Expl or er Browser
Internet Explorer provides a top-notch browser with preloaded links
for easy access to the world wi d e we b. A l so use Internet Explorer to
access one of t h e many new brows er -based uti l ities.
Norton AntiVirus™ 2000 Software
Protect the s yst em from viru s es by running N or ton’s virus scan
software.
