3-4 Configuring the System

BIOS Setup Utility
The BIOS Setup Utility lets you configure the main components of your
system. The utility is r esident in the system FLASH mem ory and does not
require a diskette or an oper ating system present to r un.
Your system ships from th e fa ctory with the correct system p ar ameters for
your configu r ation. Unl ess you add opti on al hardwar e, you do not need to
run the BIOS Setup Utility to operate your system. However, you might

system, such as securit y fea t ures.
NECC recommends that you print out or write down your current BIOS
Setup parameters and store the information in a safe place. This lets you
restore your system to th e current parameters if you n eed to have the
CMOS battery replaced.
