2-6 Setting Up the System

The recommended non- oper ating environment ( shi pping or storage) is
from 14°F to 158°F (-10°C to 70°C).
After turning off power, wait about five seconds for the hard drive to
spin down befor e you power on a g ain.
Be sure that nothing is pla ced on top of the system AC adapt er p ower
cord.
Keeping Your System in Good Condition
Maintain the condition of your system by periodically using the following
procedures.
For safety, power off and unplug your system
and any external devices before cleaning them.
Prevent dust from enter ing the system by covering it wh en not in use.
Clean the outside of the s ystem u nit and LCD panel (but not th e
screen) with a soft clean cl oth.
Remove stubborn stain s with a cloth slightly dam p ened with a mild
detergent. Never us e a str ong cleaner or solvent on an y part of the
system.
Clean the LCD panel screen wi th a soft, lint-free cloth or a scr een
wipe designed for that pur pose. Special screen wip es ar e available
through your local computer dealer.
Keep food and liquids awa y fr om the system.
Periodically clean th e keyboard with a vacuum clean er brush
attachment. Do not use an y liquid cleaners on the keyboa r d as they
can damage the keyboard.
If an object, such as a paper cl i p, falls into the keyboard , turn the
keyboard over and gently sh ake it.
