turned green. Periods of time when errors occurred are coloured red. Hence by looking at this line, you can see whether errors are in bursts, or periodic, etc.

Timecode Checking

The View module can check timecode on the serial input. The reader is configured using the Time Code page of the Engineering dialogue box, described on page 23 of this manual.

Where timecode is present, it is displayed at the bottom of the Video Status window, under the error checking lines. In SD it is possible to display VITC and ATC. Only ATC is available in HD.

As well as displaying timecode values, OmniTek XR monitors the timecode to ensure that it increments correctly from frame to frame. Each time that a timecode value is duplicated in adjacent frames, or is discontinuous from frame to frame, it is counted, and these count values are displayed in the Video Status window. There are separate counters for VITC and ATC.

ATC is a timecode packet, and can be loaded with LTC, VITC 1, or VITC 2. The choice of timecode type is set in the Timecode section of the Engineering dialog.

VITC detection parameters. (Vertical Interval timecode) (SD only)

VITC stuck frames. Counts number of stuck frames since last reset. (Looks for timecode not incrementing)

VITC skipped frames. Counts number of frames skipped since last reset. (Looks at the timecode, and detects whenever a timecode value is missed)

Actual display of incoming VITC timecode, or detection if timecode not present, or if corrupt.

ATC detection parameters. (Ancilliary data timecode)

ATC stuck frames. Counts number of stuck frames since last reset. (Looks for timecode not incrementing)

ATC skipped frames. Counts number of frames skipped since last reset. (Looks at the timecode, and detects whenever a timecode value is missed)

Actual display of incoming ATC timecode, or detection if timecode not present, or if corrupt.
