3.3 Storing names and telephone numbers into the phone book
For rapid access to frequently dialed numbers,
the base unit and handset provide the phone
book (50 items each).
LItems stored in the phone book can be copied
from the base unit to the handset (page 38).

3.3.1 With the handset

Make sure the handset and base unit are not
being used.
1Press {Phone book} (soft key 1).
LThe display shows the number of items in
the phone book.
2Press {Add} (soft key 1).
3Enter the name, up to 16 characters. See the
following character table for details.
4Press {v}.
5Enter the telephone number, up to 32 digits.
LTo enter a pause, press {P} (soft key 1).
6Press {v}.
7Press {Save} (soft key 1).
LTo program other items, repeat steps 2 to
7.
8Press {OFF}.
To select characters with the dial keypad
Note:
LTo enter another character that is located on
the same dial key, press {>} (soft key 1) to
move the cursor to the next space.
To delete a character/number
Press {<} (soft key 1).
LTo erase all of the characters/numbers, press
and hold {<} (soft key 1).

3.3.2 With the base unit

LYou can also send faxes using the phone
book (page 49).
1Press {MENU} repeatedly to display PHONE
BOOK SET.
2Press {*}.
LThe display shows the number of items in
the phone book for a few seconds.
3Enter the name, up to 16 characters. (see
page 30 for instructions).
4Press {SET}.
5Enter the telephone number, up to 32 digits.
6Press {SET}.
LTo program other items, repeat steps 3 to
6.
7Press {MENU}.
