CAMERA CHANNEL

To set up each camera:

1.On the toolbar, click the Setup icon . The Setup window opens to the Camera page.

2.In Camera section, perform one of the following options:

a.In the Channel box, select a camera.

b.(Optional) Click the Covert check box to select covert operation.

c.In the Channel Name box, type a name.

d.In the Audio box, select an input.

3.To save the changes, click the Live icon , and then click OK.

PTZ MODE

PTZ devices are connected to the DX4104 using the DATA 1 and DATA 2 RS-485 ports located on the back of the unit. The unit supports up to four serial PTZ cameras. Multiple PTZ cameras are connected by daisy-chaining the camera connections. The DX4104 allows you to address and control multiple PTZ cameras individually.

PTZ camera control is achieved by using the respective protocol for that camera. Third-party device control is achieved by using the respective protocol for that camera, to operate the PTZ, focus, iris, and preset features. Refer to Table G on page 52 for more information.

To select a protocol:

1.On the toolbar, click the Setup icon .

2.In the Protocol box, select a protocol.

3.To save changes, click the Live icon , and then click OK.

MOTION DETECTION SETUP

The motion detection window allows you to see the entire motion detection area. You can define one or more motion detection areas in the window.

The sensitivity control has the following guidelines:

High sensitivity setting: A high motion level is needed before the DVR can detect motion and record the event.

Low sensitivity setting: A low motion level will cause the DVR to detect and record video.

Medium 50% sensitivity setting (default): A typical motion level will cause the DVR to detect and record video.

To select a motion detection area:

1.On the toolbar, click the Setup icon .

2.In the preview window, drag an area to the right. The dotted rectangle selection tool appears, and the selected area is highlighted green.

To delete a motion area, right-click and drag to the right to select the area. You can also, click Clear All, which deletes all highlighted areas.
