About handling the iPod
CAUTION
!Pioneeraccepts no responsibility for data lost
onthe iPod even if that data is lost while
usingthis unit.
!Donot leave the iPod in direct sunlight for ex-
tendedamounts of time. Extended exposure
todirect sunlight can result in iPod malfunc-
tiondue to the resulting high temperature.
!Donot leave the iPod in a high temperature.
!Firmlysecure the iPod when driving. Do not
letthe iPod fall onto the floor, where it may be-
comejammed under the brake or accelerator
pedal.

About iPod settings

!Whenan iPod is connected, this unit
changesthe EQ (equalizer) setting of the
iPodto Flat in order to optimize the acous-
tics.When you disconnect the iPod, the EQ
returnsto the original setting.
!Youcannot set Repeat to off on the iPod
whenusing this unit. Even if you set Repeat
tooff on the iPod, Repeat is automatically
changedto All when connecting the iPod
tothis unit.
JPEG picture files
!JPEGis short for Joint Photographic Ex-
pertsGroup and refers to a still image com-
pressiontechnology standard.
!Filesare compatible with Baseline JPEG
andEXIF 2.1 still image up to resolution of
8192 × 7 680. (EXIF format is used most
commonlywith digital still cameras.)
!EXIFformat that processed by the personal
computermay not be played back.
!Thereis no progressive JPEG compatibility.

!Whennaming a JPEG picture file, add the cor-
respondingfilename extension (.jpg, .jpeg,
.jpeor .jfif).
!Thisunit plays back files with the filename ex-
tension(.jpg, .jpeg, .jpe or .jfif) as a JPEG pic-
turefile. To prevent malfunctions, do not use
theseextensions for files other than JPEG pic-
turefiles.
DivX video files
!Dependingon the file information composi-
tionsuch as the number of audio stream,
theremay be a slight delay in the start of
playbackon discs.
!Somespecial operation may be prohibited
becauseof the composition of DivX files.
!DivXfiles downloaded only from DivX part-
nersite are guarantee of proper operation.
UnauthorizedDivX file may not operate
properly.
!DRMrental file cannot be operated until
startingplaying back.
!Thisunit corresponds to a DivX file display
upto 1590 minutes 43seconds. Also,
searchoperation beyond this time limit is
prohibited.
!Ifa file contains more than 4 GB, playback
isstopped on the way.
!DivXVOD file playback requires ID code of
thisunit to DivX VOD provider. About ID
code,refer to Displaying your DivX®VOD r e-
gistrationcode on page 49.
