Setting the parental lockSomeDVD video discs let you use parental
lockto restrict children from viewing violent
andadult-oriented scenes. You can set the par-
entallock to your desired level.
!Whenyou set a parental lock level and then
playa disc featuring parental lock, code
numberinput indications may be dis-
played.In this case, playback will begin
whenthe correct code number is input.
Setting the code number and level
Youneed to have registered a code number for
playingback discs with parental lock.
1 TouchParental on the DVD setup menu.
2 Touch0 to 9 to input a four digit code
number.
#Tocancel the inputted numbers, touch C.
3 Touch .
Thecode number is set, and you can now set
thelevel.
4 Touchany of 1 to 8 to select the desired
level.
Theparental lock level is set.
!8–Playbackof the entire disc is possible
(initialsetting)
!7to2–Playback of discs for children and
non-adult-orienteddiscs is possible
!1–Playbackof discs for children only is
possible

!Werecommend to keep a record of your code
numberin case you forget it.
!Theparental lock level is recorded on the disc.
Lookfor the level indication written at the disc
package,included literature or on the disc it-
self.Parental lock of this unit is not possible if
aparental lock level is not recorded in the
disc.
!Withsome discs, the parental lock may be ac-
tiveonly on the scenes with certain levels. The
playbackof those scenes will be skipped.For
details,refer to the instruction manual that
camewith the discs.
Changing the level
Youcan change the set parental lock level.
1 TouchParental on the DVD setup menu.
2 Touch0 to 9 to input the registered
codenumber.
3 Touch .
Thisenters the code number, and you can now
changethe level.
#Ifyou input an incorrect code number, the
icon isdisplayed. Touch Cand input the cor-
rectcode number.
#Ifyou forget your code number, refer to If you
forgetyour code number on this page.
4 Touchany of 1 to 8 to select the desired
level.
Thenew parental lock level is set.
If you forget your code number
Pleasesee the following section, and touch C
10times. Refer to Changing the level on this
page.The registered code number is canceled,
lettingyou register a new one.
Setting the DivX subtitle fileYoucan select whether to display DivX exter-
nalsubtitles or not.
!TheDivX subtitles will be displayed even
whenCustom is selected if no DivX exter-
nalsubtitle files exist.
%TouchDivX Subtitle on the DVD setup
menuto select the desired subtitle setting.
