Correctingthe subwoofers phase

Iftr ying to boost the bass output of the sub-
wooferdoesnt do much or rather makes you
feelthat the bass gets more murky, this may
indicatethat the subwoofer s output and bass
contentyou hear over other speakers cancel
eachother out. To remove this problem, try
changingthe phase setting for the subwoofer.
1 TouchSpeaker Setting.
2 Touchaor bto select Subwoofer (sub-
woofer).
Eachtime you touch aor bselects the speak-
erin the following order:
Front(front speakers)Center (center speak-
er)Rear(rear speakers)Subwoofer (sub-
woofer)Phase(subwoofer setting)
3 Touchdto turn subwoofer output on.
#Toturn subwoofer output off, touch c.
4 Touchband then touch cor dto se-
lectthe phase of subwoofer output.
Touchdto select normal phase and Normal
appearsin the display. Touch cto select re-
versephase and Reverse appears in the dis-
play.
Note
Whenplaying a 2-channel mono source with
DolbyPro Logic II turned on, there may be occa-
sionswhen the following will occur:
!Noaudio is outputted if the center speaker
settingis Small or Large and no center speak-
eris installed.
!Audiois heard only over the center speaker if
installedand the center speaker setting is
Smallor Large.
Adjusting the speaker outputlevels
Speakerlevel can be adjusted finely by listen-
ingto an audio output. First, use test tone to
adjustthe approximate speaker level, and then
usethis function to adjust finely.

2 Touchaor bto select the speaker to
beadjusted.
Eachtime you touch aor bselects the speak-

Front-L(front speaker left)Center (center

#Youcannot select speakers whose size is set

3 Touchcor dto adjust the speaker out-
putlevel.
Eachtime you touch cor dit increases or de-
creasesthe equalizer level. +10 to 10 is dis-
playedas the level is increased or decreased.
Note
Toadjust the speaker output levels in this mode is
thesame as making the speaker output levels at
TestTone.Both provide the same results.
Selecting a cross-over frequency
Youcan select a frequency, under which
soundsare reproduced through the subwoo-
fer.If the installed speakers include one whose
sizehas been set to Small, you can select a
frequency,under which sounds are repro-
ducedthrough a Large speaker or subwoofer.
