ofthemorepopulm,Conographicisanother.Xeroxincludesasetoffonts
withits VenturaPublisherdesktoppublishingsoftware,whichyou can
usew’ithyourprinter’sLaserJetIIP emulation.
●The SoftCraftcompany now markets aBitstream-developedproduct
called“Fontwa&’.WithFontwareyoucangeneratebit-mappedfontsof
anysize fromalibraryof outZinefonts.Inoutlinefontseach character’s
profileisdefinedjustonce andtheprintergeneratesanyfontheightfrom
thatprofile, whichsavesprintermemory.
Outlinefontsdemandawesomecomputingpowerofthe printerthough,
so they’ve been availableonly on laser printers considerably more
expensive than the Star LaserPrinter4. Now, with programs like
Fontware,yourStarLaserPrinter4canturn outelegantprintin any size
withoutthathigh price.
