MENUOPTIONS
The
followingisalist ofthe optionswithinthemenus,and theirmeanings,
togetherwiththepromptsprintedinMemorySwitchmode.Thepromptsare
givenin capitallettersin squarebrackets,thus:[OFF].Factory settingsare
markedhemwith an asterisk(for example,[ON*]).Asummaryof factory
settingsis alsoprovidedfollowingthis section.
CommandMenu
Thismenu allowsyouto setup various parameterscontrollingtheoverall
setupof the printer:
RAMUSAGE
QUIETMODE
GRAPHICS
DIRECTION
AUTOON-LINE
The printer RAM may be used as aprint buffer
[BUFFER*],fordownloadingfonts[DOWNLOAD],or
asasingle-linebuffer[lLINE.BUFFER].
Theprintermayeitherprintslowerand quieter[ON],or
faster,makingslightlymorenoiseIOFP].
Whenprintingingraphicsmode,the printermayeither
printbidirectionally(inalternate directions)forspeed
IBI*]or in one direction only (unidirectiomlfor in-
creasedaccuracy CUNI].For practicallyall purposes,
however,bidirectionalprintingissufficientlyaccurate.
If thisis set [ON*], then when paper is inserted,the
printerwillautomaticallycomeon-line.Ifset[OFFI,then
youwillhaveto pressthebuttonto bringtheprinteron-
line.
FontMenu
Thismenuallowsyouto settwo parametm concerningfontswhichwillbe
automaticallyselectedwheneveryouturnon theprinter:
ZEROSTYLE In computerusage,azero is often writ?enwithaslash
through it, as follows: ‘@”. This style is called
[SLASHED].Ifazero is written as aslightlythinner
capital“O”,withouttheslash(“O”),thisismaybechosen
byselectirwrNOW*I.
NLQFONTSTYLE Thisoptionallowsyoutochoosethedefaultfontselected
whenNLQmodeisselected.Allavailablefontsaregiven
asoptions.Thedefaultis [COURIER*].
