Turn Wi-Fi on & connect to a Wi-Fi net work
If you’re adding a Wi-Fi net work when rst set ting up your device ,
Wi-Fi is turned on automatically.
1. Tou ch Settings > Wireless & networks > Wi-Fi .
2. s lide the Wi-Fi s witch to the on position.
The device scans for availa ble Wi-Fi n etworks and d isplays the
names of those it nds. Secured net works are indicated wi th a
Lock icon. If the dev ice nds a net work that you co nnected to
previously, it connect s to it.
3. Touc h a network nam e to see more detai ls or connect to i t, and
type a password if necess ary.
or, if your Wi-Fi router su pports Wi-Fi Pr otected setup, touch
the WPs icon on your tablet, and then touch the same b ut-
ton on your router.
To modify a network’s sett ings, touch & hold t he network name .
Add a Wi-Fi network
You can add a Wi-Fi networ k so your device will remember i t,
along with any securit y credentials, and co nnect to it automati-
cally when it’s in range. You m ust also add a Wi-F i network if the
network does not broad cast its name (ssid), o r to add a Wi-Fi n et-
work when you are out of rang e.
To join a secured network, you rst need to learn security details
from the network’s administrator.
1. Turn on Wi-Fi , if it’s not alread y on.
2. Touc h the Plus icon at the top of the screen.
3. e nter the ssid (nam e) of the network . if necessar y, enter secu -
rity or other network c onguration d etails.
