You can use easy gestures to activa te the Navigatio n buttons and
access your noticatio ns. Swipe with a si ngle motion:
Up then right. Open noti cations
Up then left. Home butto n

Just above the N avigation bu ttons, you ’ll nd th e Favorites t ray.
The apps you keep in the tray are av ailable on ever y Home scree n.
The Apps icon in the cente r is permanent. Fi nd it and double -tap
to reveal all your apps and widg ets.
Your Home screen can hold ap p and widget icon s, plus folders .
To open an app, folder, or widget , nd its icon and do uble-tap.
To see additional Home screen s, swipe left then r ight or right
then left in a single motio n, or left or rig ht using two nge rs.
At the top of the screen, you’l l nd the status bar :
Status icons on the left tell you which app s have sent you no-
tications—for example, that a message has arri ved, or i t’s
time for a meeting. if you have Talkba ck or another ac cessibil-
ity service running , it w ill speak the no tication when it rst
appears.
To nd your notications, use two ngers to pull down the no-
tication shade from t he top o f the sc reen, o r swipe up then
right using a single motio n.
System icons on the right display the curre nt wireless an d net-
work connection stre ngth, batter y level, time, an d more.
Google Search, just below the status and sys tem icons, lets you
search your tablet or the in ternet. Find Search and double-tap to
type your search terms , or Voice Search to speak them.
