When you make a call using Hook, you can listen to the other end through the one-way speaker of the machine, but the other party can not hear you unless you pick up the handset. Also, if you press Hook again before you pickupthehandset,thecallwillbedisconnected.

Once you have stored a name and number as a One-Touch number or as a Speed-Dial number,youcansearchforthatnamealphabeticallyusingtheTelephoneIndex. You can dial a number directly from the Telephone Index.
