6.Press Z (left arrow) or X (right arrow) repeatedly until you find the number of rings you want.

When you set 00, you can receive your incomingfaxeswithoutanyrings.

The F/T Switch (Fax/Telephone Mode)

When you share one line for your telephone and fax application, in the F/T switch mode,themachinecandeterminewhetheranincomingcallisafaxoratelephonecall. (SeeChartbelow.)

The fax picks up after Ring Delay elapses.

Incoming Call

All extensions in the home will ring for 0-4 rings (Ring Delay - see page 6-2).

You pick up any extension within Ring Delay selection.

The MFC picks up the call and automatically detects whether it is a fax or voice call.

You must manually determine if it is a voice or fax call.

Automatic fax call

Fax reception is automatically activated.

The fax message is received.

Voice call or manual fax call

Only the fax handset rings (double ring) for you to pick up. The handset will ring for 10-60 seconds (F/T Ring Time - see page 6-5).

A) If you are at the		Talk as

B)If you are at an extension phone, you can transfer the fax call to the MFC by pressing your Remote Activation Code (three digits).

The caller may hang up, but the F/T ringing will continue for 10-60 seconds.

The caller stays on the line through

the entire 10-60 second Ring Time.

The fax mode is activated.

You pick up the MFC handset.

Talk as normal or press the Start key to receive a manual fax.

The caller may hang up.
