4)Remove the toner cartridge from thedrumunitandkeepitinasafe place. For more information, see “Replacing the Toner Cartridge” on page 13-1~4.

NOTE: • Discardtheuseddrumunitaccordingtolocalregulations.Ifyouarenot sureofthem,consultwithBrotherCustomerService.Besuretosealthe drum unit tightly so toner powder does not spill out of the unit. When discarding useddrumunits,keepthemseparated fromdomestic garbage.

•We recommend you place the drum unit on a drop cloth or large piece of disposablepapertoavoidspillingandscatteringthetoner.

5)Wait to unpack the new drum unit untilimmediatelybeforeinstalling it.Placetheolddrumunitintothe aluminum bag and discard it accordingtolocalregulations.
