Adding or Editing Syslog Server Settings
To add or edit syslog server settings, perform the following steps:
Step1 Choose the interface used to communicate with the syslog server from the drop-down list.
Step2 Enter the IP address that is used to communicate with the syslog server.
Step3 Choose the protocol (either TCP or UDP) that is used by the syslog server to communicate with the ASA.
Step4 Enter the port number used by the syslog server to communicate with the ASA.
Step5 Check the Log messages in Cisco EMBLEM format (UDP only) check box to specify whether to log
messages in Cisco EMBLEM format (available only if UDP is selected as the protocol).
Step6 Check the Enable secure logging using SSL/TLS (TCP only) check box to specify that the connection
to the syslog server is secure through the use of SSL/TLS over TCP, and that the syslog message content
is encrypted.
Step7 Click OK to complete the configuration.
Generating Syslog Messages in EMBLEM Format to Other Output Destinations
To generate syslog messages in EMBLEM format to other output destinations, enter the following
command:
