Changing the Piston Syringes and

Piston Noses

The piston nose should be replaced after the pump has performed approximately 30 000 cycles. All piston noses are replaceable, the process is relatively easy, but for most pistons (except the 25 mL pistons), special tools are required to mount the piston nose.

To optimize the fitting of the 100 µL and 250 µL syringes on the syringe pump valve, each syringe is supplied with a cover seal. The orientation of this seal must be respected to ensure that the connec- tion with the syringe is airtight. Figure page 6-10 shows the correct orientation of the cover seal on a syringe.
