Removing the Power Supplies

The power supplies are located at the rear of the chassis. Each AC power supply weighs approximately 5.0 lb (2.3 kg) and each DC power supply weighs approximately 3.8 lb (1.7 kg).

Remove the leftmost power supply first and then work your way to the right. To remove the AC or DC power supplies for each power supply (see

Figure 65 on page 188):

1.Attach an electrostatic discharge (ESD) grounding strap to your bare wrist and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on the chassis. For more information about ESD, see “Preventing Electrostatic Discharge Damage” on page 130.

2.For an AC-powered router, switch the circuit breaker in the chassis above the power supply slot to the off position (O). For a DC-powered router, switch the circuit breaker on the power supply to the OFF position.

We recommend this even though the power supplies are not connected to power sources.

3.Pull the power supply straight out of the chassis.
