Procedure Steps

Step Action

1Load the ServeRAID firmware upgrade CD into the CD-ROM drive.

2Log on to the server as the SSA role (ntsysadm).

3Reboot the server.

4If the operating system has been installed, change the boot sequence so that the CD-ROM is the primary boot device by doing the following:

•When the BIOS information appears, press F12 to select the boot sequence.

•Select CD-ROMas the primary boot device.

Otherwise, wait for the server to reboot.

The ServeRAID Manager screen appears. (This may take up to two minutes.)

5If an upgrade is not required, click OK to reboot server and go to step 9. (The OK prompt does not always display. If this happens, select File> Exit, and select Restart to reboot the server.)

Otherwise, select Update to apply the update.

Attention: Do not power off the system during the update.

The ROM Update Wizard displays a firmware message.

6Click OK.

7Click Next to complete the update.

8Click Finish.

The server reboots.

9Remove the CD from the CD-ROM drive.
