Discovering devices on a network

The topology discovery process begins when you supply Optivity Switch Manager with one or more network device seed addresses and the application queries the addresses. The Preferences dialog box specifies the seed address and defines the scope of the discovery process.

To discover a network:

1From the Optivity Switch Manager menu bar, choose Edit > Preferences.

The Preferences dialog box opens (Figure 11).

2In the Seed Address(es) textbox, type the IP address of one or more devices in the network.

Separate multiple IP addresses with commas.
