Signal Tones

The machine emits sounds to identify specific conditions.

One Short Beep

This is the Key Select Tone.

You hear it every time a key is pressed.

Three Short Beeps

This an Error Tone.

You hear it when an inappropriate key is pressed.

Five Long Beeps

This an Error Tone.

You hear it when there is a problem with operations during communications.

To stop the beeping (turn the error tone off), press the Stop key.

Then, print a Message Confirmation Report to check the source of the problem.

To print the report, press the Enter key twice (with no documents loaded).

One Long Beep

This is the End of Session Tone.

You hear it at the end of each successful faxing session. It confirms that there were no errors or problems in the communication.

Intermittent Warbling

This is the Off-Hook Alarm Tone.

You hear this when the receiver of the handset is left out of the cradle (when not in use).

The handset is an option; your machine may or may not have one.

To stop the warbling, return the receiver to its cradle or press the Stop key.
