CONNECTIONS

ÖBefore making or changing the connections, switch off the power switch and disconnect the power cord from the AC outlet.

CONNEXIONS

ÖAvant d’effectuer les raccordements, ou de les modi- fier, veillez à couper l’alimentation et à débrancher la fiche du cordon d’alimentation.

AUDIO OUTPUT CONNECTION

Connect the player’s AUDIO OUT jack to the LINE IN or AUX IN jack of a DJ mixer or similar component. Make sure that the white plugs are connected to the left (L) jacks and the red plugs to the right (R) jacks.

ÖDo not connect this player to the DJ mixer MIC jacks, as the sound will be distorted and will not be properly re- produced.

ÖThe illustration shows an example of connections made when the CDJ-500S is connected to the DJM-300 or DJM- 500.

CONTROL JACK CONNECTIONS

Connect both CONTROL jacks of two players with the ac- cessory mini-plug cable. By connecting two players, con- tinuous playback on both players can be carried out alter- nately. (Refer to page 21.)

By connecting the optional DJM-500 or DJM-300 DJ mixer to the CONTROL jack of this unit, the fader starting or back cuing of this unit can be controlled from the audio mixer. For the connection and operation, read the operating in- structions of the DJM-500 or DJM-300 DJ mixer.

POWER CORD CONNECTIONS

Set the line voltage selector switch to the position of your area before connecting the power cord. (Refer to page 2.) After all other connections are made, connect the power cord to a household wall outlet or to the auxiliary AC power takeoff on your amplifier.

ÖMake sure plugs are fully inserted into the jacks and wall outlet.

NOTE:

If you do the following actions when the disc is spinning in the unit, the unit may malfunction.

1)Set the power switch to off, then on.

2)Disconnect the power cord, then connect again. To correct, press the EJECT button to stop the disc. You may then resume player operation.

POWER-CORD CAUTION

Handle the power cord by the plug. Do not pull out the plug by tugging the cord and never touch the power cord when your hands are wet as this could cause a short circuit or electric shock. Do not place the unit, a piece of furniture, etc., on the power cord, or pinch the cord. Never make a knot in the cord or tie it with other cords. The power cords should be routed such that they are not likely to be stepped on. A damaged power cord can cause a fire or give you an electrical shock. Check the power cord once in a while. When you find it damaged, ask your nearest PIONEER au- thorized service center or your dealer for a replacement.

RACCORDEMENT DE LA SORTIE AUDIO

Raccorder la prise AUDIO OUT du lecteur à la prise LINE IN ou AUX IN du mélangeur “Disc-Jockey” (DJ) ou d’un appareil comparable. Les fiches blanches doivent être reliées aux prises de voie gauche (L) et les rouges aux prises de voie droite (R).

ÖNe pas raccorder ce lecteur aux prises MIC du mélangeur DJ, car le son serait distordu et ne serait pas reproduit correctement.

ÖL’illustration présente un exemple de branchements quand le CDJ-500S est raccordé au DJM-300 ou DJM- 500.

RACCORDEMENT DES PRISES DE COMMANDE

Relier les prises CONTROL des deux lecteurs avec le câble

àminifiches fourni comme accessoire. En raccordant les deux lecteurs, il est possible d’enchaîner la lecture d’un appareil sur l’autre. (Voir page 21)

En reliant le mixeur Disc Jockey DJM-500 ou DJM-300 en option sur la prise CONTROL de cet appareil, le début du fondu sonore et le marquage de retour peuvent être commandés par le mixeur audio. Pour le raccordement et le fonctionnement, reportez-vous au mode d’emploi du mixeur DJM-500 ou DJM-300.

RACCORDEMENT DU CORDON

D’ALIMENTATION

Avant de raccorder le cordon d’alimentation, régler le sélecteur de tension de ligne sur la position correspondant au secteur local. (Voir page 2)

Connecter le cordon d’alimentation sur une prise secteur murale ou sur une prise secteur de votre amplificateur après avoir fini toutes les autres connexions.

ÖS’assurer que les prises sont insérées à fond sur les prises et la prise murale.

REMARQUE:

Si vous effectuez l’une des deux opérations ci-dessous alors que le disque est en cours de lecture, vous provoquez une anomalie de fonctionnement.

1)Mise hors tension de l’appareil au moyen de l’interrup- teur d’alimentation suivie d’une mise sous tension.

2)Débranchement de la fiche du cordon d’alimentation suivi d’un branchement de cette fiche.

En ce cas, appuyez sur la touche EJECT pour arrêter la ro- tation du disque. Ensuite, remettez le lecteur en marche.

NOTE IMPORTANTE SUR LE CABLE D’ALIMENTATION

Tenir le câble d’alimentation par la fiche. Ne pas débrancher la prise en tirant sur le câble et ne pas toucher le câble avec les mains mouillées. Cela risque de provoquer un court- circuit ou un choc électrique. Ne pas poser l’appareil ou un meuble sur le câble. Ne pas pincer le câble. Ne pas faire de nœud avec le câble ou l’attacher à d’autres câbles. Les câbles d’alimentation doivent être posés de façon à ne pas être écrasés. Un câble abîmé peut provoquer un risque d’incendie ou un choc électrique. Vérifier le câble d’alimentation de temps en temps. Contacter le service après-vente PIONEER le plus proche ou le revendeur pour un remplacement.
