Operation with Standard Mobile Unit During a Call
If your Gigaset 1054 is connected to a telephone line with tone dailing, then the following is not
relevant for you.
If your Gigaset 1054 is connected to a line with pulse dialing (DPS), you have the option of tem-
porarily switching the dialing mode of your Gigaset 1054 from DPS to DTMF (tone dialing).
By switching the dialing mode from pulse to tone dialing, you can enter information via the dial-
pad during a call, for instance in order to query an answering machine or voice mail, or to take
advantage of German Telekom AG services such as “City Call” or “Scall, etc.

wPush the enter key.
*Push the star key.
The dialing mode is changed to tone
dialing.
You must dial at least one digit before you can temporarily change the dialing mode.
After you have switched, you can switch back and forth between the dialing modes during the
call, using the signal key e . After completing the call, the telephone reverts automatically to
the original dialing mode.
Digits and symbols which are entered while the phone is switched to the alternative dialing
mode are not stored in the repeat dial memory.
The tone dialing symbol appears only during the temporary change of the dialing mode, and dis-
appears during an internal consultation.
At the initialization, the phone is set for tone dialing.
During the switchover, the call charges / length of call display is suppressed.
