Connecting peripheral sources and outputs
Followt heseinstructions if you have a peripheraldevice to connect to your interactivew hiteboard
system, such as a DVD /Blu-rayplayer or a USB device.

lDo not disconnectc ablesf romthe ECP to connect peripheraldevices because you could
disconnectcontrols for your interactive whiteboard.
lDon’t connect SMARTBoardAudio (SBA-L)US B speakers to the ECP. Connect these
speakersto the projector using a dual-channel (left andright) RCA plugs-to-3.5 mm audio
connectorcable (includedwit h thes peakers).
lThecomposite video connector andassociated dual channelaudio inputs on the ECP are for
inputonly. These RCA jacks don’t providean outputsignal.
gTo connecta peripheral source or outputto your projector
1. If y ouhave speakers installed, turn the volumedial on the ECP all t hew ay down to prevent
buzzingor a spark.
2. If y ourperipheraldevice uses a composite video connection, connect its input cables to the
ECP.
If your peripheral device uses a USB connection, connect its input cables to one of the
availableUSB receptacles on the ECP.
3. Switch input sources to the peripheraldevice by pressing the Input button onthe EC P or
remotecontrol.

If your USB device does not work, the device may be malfunctioningor incompatible, or the
USB port may be disabled.See Disabling user USB access on page 81.
4. Restore the volume ont heEC P’s volume dial.
