Appendix C: Disabling user USB access
In some situations, you might want to disablet heE CP’s front USB receptacle. Disabling the USB
receptacleprevents users from usingor saving documents to USB drives using the ECP’s front USB
receptacle.The other USB receptacles won’t be deactivateds ince they’rerequiredf oryour
interactivewhiteboard andcomputer connections to function.
Followt heseinstructions to remove and cut the case on the ECP, and then removet heU SB jumper
switch to disable the ECP’s US B receptacle.

Always use an anti-static wrist wrap when working on the ECP.
II M P O R TA N T
Do not performthis operationif you are unfamiliarwith using jumper switches.
Yourequire a Phillips No. 2 screwdriver, a pairof wire cutters and a pairof needle-nosepliers to
performthe following procedure.
gTo remove andcut the case on the ECP
1. Put the projector into Standbymode, and then wait 15 minutes for it to cool down.
2. Disconnect the projector’s powerc ablefrom the power outlet.
3. While holdingt heEC P to prevent it from falling, use a Phillips No. 2 screwdriver to removet he
two screws from the bottom of the ECP. Place t hes crews in a safe place.
