Moisture condensation
If the digital camcorder is brought directly from a cold place to a warm place, moisture may condense inside the digital camcorder, on the surface of the tape, or on the lens. In this condition, the tape may stick to the head drum and be damaged or the unit may not operate correctly. To prevent possible damage under these circumstances, the digital camcorder is furnished with moisture sensors. Please, take the following precautions.
Condensación de humedad
Si traslada la videocámara digital directamente de un lugar frío a otro cálido, es posible que se condense humedad en el interior de la misma, en la superficie de la cinta, o en el objetivo. En esta condición, la cinta puede pegarse al tambor de cabezas, y es posible que la unidad se dañe o que no funcione correctamente. Para evitar posibles daños en tales circunstancias, la videocámara dispone de sensores de humedad. Sin embargo, tome las precauciones siguientes.
Inside the digital camcorder
If there is moisture inside the digital camcorder, the beep sounds and the { indicator flashes. If this happens, none of the functions except cassette ejection will work. Open the cassette compartment, turn off the digital camcorder, and leave it about 1 hour. When 6 indicator flashes at the same time, the cassette is inserted in the digital camcorder. Eject the cassette, turn off the digital camcorder, and leave also the cassette about 1 hour. You can continue use of digital camcorder when the { indicator does not appear when the power is turned on again.
On the lens
If moisture condenses on the lens, no indicator appears, but the picture becomes dim. Turn off the power and do not use the digital camcorder for about 1 hour.
How to prevent moisture condensation
When bringing the digital camcorder from a cold place to a warm place, put the digital camcorder in a plastic bag and allow it to adapt to room conditions over a period of time.
(1) Be sure to tightly seal the plastic bag
containing the digital camcorder.
(2) Remove the bag when the air temperature inside it has reached the temperature surrounding it (after about 1 hour).
En el interior de la videocámara digital
Si se condensa humedad en el interior de la videocámara digital, sonará un pitido y parpadeará el indicador {. Cuando suceda esto, no trabajará ninguna función excepto la de expulsión del videocassette. Abra el compartimiento del videocassette, desconecte la alimentación de la videocámara digital, y déjela así durante 1 hora por lo menos. Si también parpadea el indicador 6, habrá un videocassette insertado en la videocámara digital. Extraiga el videocassette, desconecte la alimentación de la videocámara digital y deje ésta así durante aproximadamente 1 hora. Usted podrá continuar utilizando la videocámara digital cuando el indicador { no aparezca al volver a conectar la alimentación.
En el objetivo
Si se condensa humedad en el objetivo, no aparecerá ningún indicador, pero las imágenes se difuminarán. Desconecte la alimentación y deje sin utilizar la videocámara digital durante aproximadamente 1 hora.
Cómo evitar la condensación de humedad
Antes de trasladar la videocámara digital de un lugar frío a otro cálido, métala en una bolsa de plástico y deje que se adapte a las condiciones de la sala durante cierto tiempo.
(1) Cerciórese de sellar bien la bolsa de plástico que contiene la videocámara digital.
(2) Saque la videocámara digital de la bolsa de plástico cuando la temperatura del aire interior haya alcanzado la ambiental (después de aproximadamente 1 hora).
