Installing the Tri-Port Interface Card

The Tri-Port Interface Card lets you connect your printer to:

•A LocalTalk network

•A serial interface (Serial RS-232C or Serial RS-422A)

•An infrared adapter.

A serial interface adapter converts the printer parallel port into a serial port. For more information about serial interface, see Serial Menu in Chapter 1 of the System Administrator Guide.

An infrared adapter receives an infrared beam that allows you to print remotely from an IrDA-compatible computer. For more information, see the section “Using the Infrared Adapter.”
