Printer Operation Problems

Sometimes printer problems are very simple to solve. When you have a problem, first make sure that:

•The power cord is plugged into the printer and a properly grounded electrical outlet.

•The electrical outlet is not turned off by any switch or breaker.

•Other electrical equipment plugged into the outlet is working.

•All options are installed properly.

•You unplug the printer, wait for about ten seconds, and then plug the printer back in. This often fixes the problem.

In this section, you will find information to help you solve most of the common operation problems that can occur with your printer.

See Table 5.1 on page 5-3 for corrective actions when the printer will not print or when the printed output is not what you expect.
