Starting the ARN

To use the netboot option:

1.Enter the ifconﬁgcommand (refer to Table 2-2) at the command line prompt and press the Return key.

The following is a sample command: ifconﬁg com1 9.0.0.2 255.0.0.0 9.0.0.3

Refer to Appendix A for more information about the ifconﬁg command.

2.Enter the following command and press the Return key to verify the conﬁguration you speciﬁed in Step 1:

getcfg

The getcfg command shows the source -- either local or network -- of the boot image and the network conﬁguration ﬁle. It also shows the interface conﬁguration that you speciﬁed using the ifconﬁg command.

Verify the interface conﬁguration, as shown in Figure 2-1.

$ getcfg
