Selecting Stitching

You can select any of the various types of stitching available.

Stitch types

There are utility stitch, decorative stitch, satin stitch, cross-stitch, combined utility stitch and my custom stitches groups.

For details on the types of stitches available, refer to "Stitch Settings" (page 66).

aUtility stitches

You can select from 67 types of utility stitches, including straight line stitching, overcasting, button holes and basic decorative stitches. If this is selected, the screen that appears right after the power is turned on is displayed.

bDecorative stitches (Can be combined)

You can select from 31 decorative stitches, including, leaves, flowers and hearts. You can sew combinations of multiple decorative stitches.

cSatin stitches (Can be combined)

There are 16 satin stitches. You can sew combinations of multiple decorative stitches.

dCombined utility stitches (Can be combined)

You can sew with combinations from 39 utility stitches.

eCross-stitches (Can be combined)

There are 14 types of cross-stitches. You can sew combinations of multiple decorative stitches.

fMy custom stitches

You can design original stitches. (For details, refer to "Designing a Pattern (My Custom Stitch)" (page 123).)

Selecting stitching

aDetermine which presser foot should be used with the selected stitch.

• Refer to "Stitch Settings" (page 66).

bAttach the presser foot.

For details, refer to "Replacing the presser foot" (page 40).

cTurn on the sewing machine.

XThe straight stitch (left needle position) is shown selected in the LCD.
