Using the twin needle

Using the twin needle, you can sew two parallel lines of the same stitch with two different colors. Both upper threads should have the same thickness and quality. Be sure to use the twin needle and the extra spool pin.For details on the stitches that can be sewn with the twin needle, refer to "Stitch Settings" (page 66).

CAUTION

Only use the twin needle (Part code : X59296-051).

Use of any other needle may bend the needle or damage the machine.

Never use bent needles. Bent needles can easily break, possibly resulting in injuries.

Do not try installing the twin needle while the thread cassette is not installed, otherwise the needle may break or damage to the machine may result.

aRemove the needle.

For details, refer to "Replacing the needle" (page 37).

bLoad the spool for the first thread color into the thread cassette.

Thread the thread cassette up to arrow 2, indicated on the thread cassette.

cLoad the spool for the second thread color onto the extra spool pin.

dUse the two threads to thread the thread cassette, and then cut the threads.

Thread the thread cassette along arrows 3 through 6, indicated on the thread cassette.
