Power Protection Component
For complete power protection for the Cisco ICS 7750 system, a UPS is available for the Cisco ICS 7750 chassis. The Cisco redundant power system (RPS) 300 is available for the Catalyst switches that are connected to the Cisco ICS 7750.
Uninterruptible Power Supply
A UPS is an external device that maintains power to the system if the power supply fails. The appropriate UPS for the Cisco ICS 7750 is the APC
•It prevents blackouts, brownouts, sags, and surges from reaching the Cisco ICS 7750.
•It filters small utility line fluctuations.
•When large power disturbances occur, it internally disconnects from the utility line and supplies power from its internal batteries, returning to the utility line only when a safe level of power is restored.
