Chapter 3 Summary of Power and Cooling System Features
Power Supply Module
Key Features
The power supply module has the following key features:
•Automatic remote enable/disable signal: Ensures that the power supply remains off until fully seated and turns the power supply off during removal.
•Operates as a single or redundant module.
•
•Current sharing when two power supplies reside in a chassis (the power supplies do not load share).
•Four DC voltage outputs: +3.3V, +5V, +12V, and
•AC input range of operation: 100 to 240 VAC.
•IEC
•Overvoltage protection: Power supply shuts down if the power output exceeds the nominal output by 120 percent.
•Automatic thermal shutdown: If the ambient temperature is too high, the power supply shuts down automatically; when the ambient temperature returns to a safe operating range, the power supply restarts automatically.
•Automatic redundancy when two power supplies are installed.
