Editing Scanned Text Using Optical Character Recognition (OCR)

Optical Character Recognition (OCR) is a software feature that converts a scanned image into editable text within a word-processing program.

NOTE: Ensure you have OCR software installed on your computer. A copy of OCR software was provided with your printer and should have installed at the same time as your printer drivers.

1Load your original document. For help, see "Load an Original Document Into the ADF" on page 24 or "Placing Your Original Document on the Scanner Glass" on page 25.

2Click StartPrograms or All ProgramsDell PrintersDell Photo AIO Printer 964Dell All-In-One Center.

The Dell All-In-One Center opens.

NOTE: You can also open the Dell All-In-One Center from the operator panel on your printer. When

your printer is in Scan mode, press the Start button . The Dell All-In-One Center opens on your computer.

3From the Send scanned images to: drop-down menu, select a word-processing or text-editing program.

4From the How will the scan be used? drop-down menu, select To edit text (OCR and 300 DPI).

5Click Scan Now.

The scanned text appears.

6Edit your document.

7Save your document.
