Paper feed or paper jam problems occur frequently.
Cause What to do
Sheets of paper are stuck
together. Fan the stack of paper and align the
edges before loading.
The paper is too thin or
rough. Make sure the paper meets the paper
requirements for this printer. See
“Paper” in Appendix C.
Too many sheets are loaded
in the sheet feeder. Check the paper package and Chapter
6, “Printing on Special Paper”, for the
amount of paper you can load in the
sheet feeder .
The printable side of the
paper is not correctly loaded. Try turning the stack of paper over in
the sheet feeder. Most packages of
paper indicate the printable side with
an arrow on the end of the package.
Make sure the printable side is loaded
face up.
