Photographic images look grainy or rough.
Cause What to do
The printing position is
misaligned. Align the print heads with the Print
Head Alignment utility. See “Aligning
the Print Heads” later in this chapter .
The resolution of the original
image data or the resoluti on
setting for the image in your
image-editing software may
be too low.
Increase the image resolution in your
image-editing software. Keep in mind
that higher resolution images take
longer to print.
Use of the EPSON PhotoEnhance
feature is recommended for Printing
photographic image. On the printer
driver’s Main menu (Windows) or
Print dialog box (Macintosh), click the
Advanced button and select
PhotoEnhance2 from the settings list.
The Status Monitor 2 window does not appear when you areusing Windows 95.
Cause What to do
The Enable bi-directional
support for this printer
option is not selected in the
Spool Settings window.
You must select Enable bi-directional
support for this printer in the Spool
Settings window to use the Status
Monitor. To access the Spool Set tings
window, click the Start button, point
to Settings, and click Printers.
Right-click the icon for your printer
and choose Properties from the
drop-down menu. Click the Details
tab; then click Spool Settings. Select
Enable bi-directional support for
this printer.
