To clean the print heads, follow these steps:
For Windows users:
1. When you clean the black print head, make sure the
B ink out
light is off. When you clean the color print head, make sure
the
A light is off.
Note:
Replace low or empty ink cartridges before you clean the print
heads.
2. Access the printer driver setting menu as described in
Chapter 4.
3. Click the Utility tab, then click the Head Cleaning button.
4. Follow the on-screen messages.
While the printer performs the cleaning cycle, the
P power
light flashes. It takes about two minutes to clean each print
head.
cCaution:
Never turn off the printer while the
P power light is
flashing. Doing so may damage the printer.
5. When the
P power light stops flashing, click Print nozzle
check pattern in the Head Cleaning dialog box and use
the pattern to confirm that the heads are clean and to reset
the cleaning cycle.
