Hardware Maintenance Schedule

The FGS switch hardware components require minimal maintenance. Foundry recommends cleaning the fiber-
optic connectors on fiber-optic ports and the connected fiber cable each time you disconnect the cable.
You can replace the following hardware components as needed:
2-port 10-Gigabit Ethernet module
Copper and fiber optic modules (SFPs (mini-GBICs) and XFP transceivers)
POE daughter card
Power supplies

Replacing a Power Supply

You can replace a power supply while the FGS chassis is powered on and running. The power supplies are
located in slots at the rear of the FGS chassis.
This section provides information about the following topics:
Installation precautions and warnings
Determining which power supply has failed, if necessary
